I so much enjoyed reading this calendar that I am back buying some for Holiday presents. A truly fun romp through Paris and Versailles. Gorgeous pictures, some large and great for framing after the year is up, and lots of small detail photos.
just finished reading this lovely calendar! such a joy to read wonderful, thoughtful, intelligent writing as an accompaniment to fantastic photos capturing the essence of paris!! the interesting history, references to many writings and artists were all a treat, as were the tongue in cheek funnies sprinkled throughout!
this is a calendar of special places put together by a well-read individual with a sense of humor.
whether you've not yet been or being remined of a former visit to paris, you will enjoy this calender of wonderful prose and pictures!
This spectacular calendar stood out amongst all the other boring and very bad photo Paris calendars! Shirley's was the only one that grabbed my attention because it had all my favorite places in Paris! I was getting this for my Mom for Christmas because we have traveled to Paris several times and absolutely love it!! And then Christmas morning when she opened it we realized that the calendar was made by a mom and daughter! We got such a kick out it because it was so ironic and reminded us of our trips together and love for Paris! Very prompt shipping too! The only thing we wish it had was a hole in the top to hang on the wall but other then that the photos and stories are great! Thanks for sharing!! ( Good luck to your daughter Shirley!! ) many more trips to come!! )

This Paris and Versailles Travelogue - Calendar is gorgeous. The photographs themselves are stunning. They have been carefully chosen to show both the elegance and magnificence of the places visited, and at the same time, to evoke the more personal and treasured glimpses of these two women as they discovered, and apparently fell in love with, Paris. The creators have done their homework. They have woven their knowledge of history and literature into their beautifully written travelogue in a way that draws you in and brings the places to life in a much more compelling way than the dry descriptions that often appear in many calendars. It has been so artfully and heartfully put together. Here it is only mid-February, and I have been so entranced I have already read through the entire year!
Paris has been on my bucket list for a long time, so I was very excited to receive this as a gift. Each month features one large color photo with multiple smaller photos of the same region of Paris. The author's personal accounts of visiting each location are more interesting than standard travel book text and make you feel like you're there with her. The photos are clear and give a wonderful picture of life in Paris. Whether you've been to Paris many times or (like me) you've never been, this calendar is a great gift to give or receive.
As a collector of all things Paris I found this 2014 edition to be a favorite. Each month shows a large full color picture plus several smaller pictures with an interesting documentary about that area.
This was a gift item and unique in its approach. Since i gave it as a gift I was not able to open it up for further inspection but the outside fotos looked wonderful.
